Mice

Are you the owner of one of these wonderful critters? If you have an interesting fact about this species or breed, please share with us and we'll add it to the applicable page.

  • Mice are becoming quite popular as pets.
  • You need to be prepared to supply some live prey to your mice like the occasional cricket or meal worms.
  • Mice are timid and a bit nervous, so you'll need to be careful when approaching them.
  • Mice are social creatures and do very well in "colony" situations.
  • Multiple male mice will fight so you'll do better with either all females or females with 1 male. However, mice are prolific breeders so if you don't want an instant colony, keep your family to all females.
  • Your mouse cage will need to be kept clean and dry at all times so you will have to be willing to clean the cage thoroughly twice a week.
  • Young children must be supervised around them at all times.
  • Keeping their home clean and tidy is quite time consuming as mice can be quite messy. You will have to be willing to give their home daily attention in order to keep your pets healthy and happy.
  • If you are still interested in getting a mouse, please visit your local library and read up on this wonderful species. Both of you will be much happier because you did.

  • Breeders:
Michele's Lucky Mouse Mousery, Temecula, CA
